Call for Proposals
The International Association for Language Learning Technology (IALLT) is pleased to announce the Call for Proposals for the 2027 IALLT Conference at the University of Wisconsin in Madison, WI.
The deadline for submitting proposals is October 16, 2026. Questions regarding the program, proposals, or the submission process can be sent to the Program Chair, Audrey Sartiaux (programchair@iallt.org).
Ripple Effects: Where Human Connection Creates New Currents:
Madison’s landscape of lakes and waterways reminds us that even the smallest movement can create expanding circles of influence. As technology continues to reshape language education, this theme invites us to explore questions such as: How do we harness emerging technologies in ways that deepen cultural understanding, strengthen human connection, and keep students at the center of our teaching? How do we develop language and digital literacy skills simultaneously while designing learning experiences that remain thoughtful, inclusive, and accessible? How can we use technology to foster meaningful collaboration across languages, cultures, institutions, and global contexts? We invite proposals that dive into these questions and create new ripples of possibility across the topics suggested below and beyond.
SUGGESTED TOPICS
In addition to demonstrations of the latest gadgets, apps, and digital resources, the range of proposals being sought is quite broad. Suggested topics include, but are not limited to:

- Research, Assessment, and Best Practices In Computer-Assisted Language Learning

- Language Center Leadership and Design
- Online and Hybrid Language Learning
- Gaming and Gamification in Language Learning
- Ethics, Privacy, and Legal Issues In Language Learning
- ADA Compliance, Assistive Technologies, and Universal Design for Learning in Language Learning
- Cultural Identities and Inclusive Design for Language Learning
- Lifelong and Independent Language Learning
- Career Readiness and Experiential Language Learning

When submitting a proposal, you will provide the information below:
- Speaker Details: Name, affiliation (academic institution or business), and email address. All the presenters (including second, and other additional presenters) are required to register and participate in the conference.
- Presentation Type:
- Pre- or Post-Workshops (2 or 3 hours)
- Presentation (25 or 50 minutes)
- Digital Poster Session
- Panel Session (50 Minutes)
- Exhibitor Session
- Abstract: Your abstract will be reviewed as part of the selection process and published in the conference app. No more than 200 words.
