
MAALLT is the Mid-Atlantic Association for Language Learning Technology. MAALLT, like its affiliate organization IALLT, is a professional not-for-profit membership organization working toward the goal of improving language instruction through the use of technology.
We are a dynamic and growing group with members associated with a wide variety of institutions of higher learning in the Mid-Atlantic region.
Everyone interested in the use of technology in the learning of languages and cultures is welcome to participate in MAALLT activities, but the MAALLT region includes: Maryland, the District of Columbia, Virginia, North Carolina, West Virginia, Kentucky, and Tennessee.

MAALLT is excited to announce the MAALLT Book Slam 2, a fast-paced virtual event with concise, high-impact presentations highlighting books and podcasts that have influenced educators’ teaching, research, and professional practice. Each presenter will share practical insights, key takeaways, and connections that participants can immediately apply in their own work.
Modeled after our popular Tech Slam series, the Book Slam features a series of engaging 5–10-minute presentations exploring resources shaping the future of language learning, education, and technology. Join colleagues from across our community to discover new ideas, gain practical insights, and leave inspired.

Whether you’re nominating yourself or a talented colleague, we’re looking for individuals who are enthusiastic about advancing language education through innovative technology integration. Board members help guide our strategic direction, organize professional development events, and foster connections within our vibrant community.
Nomination Deadline: November 5, 2025
Open positions include leadership roles that shape programming, partnerships, and community outreach. No prior board experience required – just passion for language learning technology!
Starting November 6, we will reach out to nominees to confirm their interest and to solicit candidate statements for the election period. To nominate someone, or to self-nominate, simply send an email to maallt.org@gmail.com with the subject: nomination and in the body of the email state the name(s) of the nominee(s), their contact information, and the position for which you are nominating each.
