MAALLT is the Mid-Atlantic Association for Language Learning Technology. MAALLT, like its affiliate organization IALLT, is a professional not-for-profit membership organization working toward the goal of improving language instruction through the use of technology.

We are a dynamic and growing group with members associated with a wide variety of institutions of higher learning in the Mid-Atlantic region.

Everyone interested in the use of technology in the learning of languages and cultures is welcome to participate in MAALLT activities, but the MAALLT region includes: Maryland, the District of Columbia, Virginia, North Carolina, West Virginia, Kentucky, and Tennessee.


MAALLT Book Slam 2: Call for Proposals

MAALLT is excited to announce the MAALLT Book Slam 2, a fast-paced virtual event where members and friends share short presentations about technology-related books or podcasts.

Modeled after our popular Tech Slam series, the Book Slam features brief, engaging presentations of 5–10 minutes each. Presenters will introduce a book or podcast, highlight key takeaways, and explain why it may be valuable to colleagues interested in language technology, education, or learning.

Call for Proposals

We invite proposals on books or podcasts related to:

  • Language learning technology
  • Language education
  • Technology in teaching and learning

Both fiction and nonfiction selections are welcome, as long as there is a clear connection to language technology, education, or learning.

Proposal Deadline

Please submit your proposal by May 22 – extended to May 31.
