SOCALLT

SOCALLT, South Central Association for Language Learning Technology, is a professional organization focused on language pedagogy, methodology, and research-based practices to meet the goals of technology-enhanced teaching and language learning. We invite faculty, staff, and students to join this friendly organization to broaden our views on our profession as we pursue excellence.

SOCALLT is a regional group of IALLT, the International Association for Language Learning Technology. Our region includes Arkansas, Colorado, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas. 

MISSION
The goals of the organization are to:

  • Disseminate information about Language Learning Technology.
  • Share experiences on the development and implementation of Language Learning Technology.
  • Provide information on resources available for those involved in Language Learning Technology.
  • Be a bridge to IALLT, the International Association for Language Learning Technology, our national organization.

Conference Keynote Speakers
– Amanda Dalola, Director of CLA Language Center & Associate Professor, Institute of Linguistics from the Department of French & Italian, University of Minnesota, will share her OER endeavor using TikTok and Instagram reels. She will discuss how social network content can be used to support language learning and cultural awareness in beginning French courses.
– Maureen Lamb, Dean of Academic Technology and Innovative Pedagogy at the Ethel Walker School in Simsbury, CT, will bring her insight titled “Making AI Work For Language Teachers.” She will discuss how AI can help with lesson planning, grading, story writing, editing, letter writing, and more.
