SOCALLT, South Central Association for Language Learning Technology, is a professional organization focused on language pedagogy, methodology, and research-based practices to meet the goals of technology-enhanced teaching and language learning. We invite faculty, staff, and students to join this friendly organization to broaden our views on our profession as we pursue excellence.
SOCALLT is a regional group of IALLT, the International Association for Language Learning Technology. Our region includes Arkansas, Colorado, Louisiana, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Texas.
MISSION
The goals of the organization are to:
- Disseminate information about Language Learning Technology.
- Share experiences on the development and implementation of Language Learning Technology.
- Provide information on resources available for those involved in Language Learning Technology.
- Be a bridge to IALLT, the International Association for Language Learning Technology, our national organization.

April 2025:
- SOCALLT Conference 2025 was a huge success at the Language Learning Center, University of New Mexico
- Officer Election Result: Louise Stoehr – president, Angel Ledesma – secretary
- Baylor University, Waco, TX, will host the SOCALLT 2026 Conference
August 2023:
- Our bylaws have been updated.
- Temporary Leadership Council has been established.
