Webinar: OER on a Shoestring Budget
OER on a Shoestring Budget
Date: Thursday, September 26, 2013
Presenter(s): Jonathan Perkins, University of Kansas
Open Educational Resources (OER), broadly defined as teaching and research materials offered to the public at little or no cost, are a clear answer to the escalating cost of textbooks. The production of web-based OER can, in addition, serve as the foundation for an enhanced relationship between foreign language instructors and language lab staff, creating an ecosystem that embraces materials creation and technological literacy as integral parts of professional development. This presentation will highlight the successes of the University of Kansas in creating a community of OER practitioners without any additional budgetary resources.
