Tuesday, June 18

Optional Excursion to the Oregon Coast – $100
8:30am-5:30pm

If possible, plan to arrive a day early and take advantage of this incredible tour. The itinerary includes the Fern Ridge Reservoir, Sea Lion Caves, Heceta Head Lighthouse State Scenic Point, the town of Yachats where you will have time to explore and purchase lunch, and several more scenic stops along the southbound route back to Florence and then Eugene. This tour is booked directly with the tour provider and not through the conference registration process. Visit the Oregon Coastal Tour website for more information and to reserve your spot. The tour departs from the 5th Street Public Market which is within walking distance of the Phoenix Inn.

Informal Gathering at Elk Horn Brewery – no cost
until 10:00pm

As you arrive in Eugene, join other conference attendees at the Elk Horn Brewery (just a short walk from the Phoenix Inn), for an informal evening of renewing old friendships, making new connections, and preparing for a great conference. A variety of food and beverages will be available for individual purchase.


Wednesday, June 19

IALLT Board and Council Meeting in 175 McKenzie – no cost
8:30am-1:00pm

All Board and Council members are encouraged to attend the annual planning meeting that will take place in the Yamada Language Center in McKenzie Hall. Lunch will be provided, but a RSVP is required.

IALLT Workshops in McKenzie Hall – $25 each; Crafting Workshops in the Craft Center in EMU – $30 each
9:30am-11:30am; 1:00pm-3:00pm; 3:30pm-5:30pm

Optional Winery Tour – $60
3:15pm-6:45pm

Visit two local top-rated wineries for tastings and a tour! We depart from the Phoenix Inn at 3:15pm, starting with champagne and juice on the way out to the wine country! Complimentary bottled water, soft drinks, and lots of ice are also included. Silvan Ridge Winery is our first stop, for a tasting of their diverse and food-friendly wines representing the very best of the Southern Willamette Valley. Then we travel to the 1,033 acre King Estate for a tour and tasting including their celebrated Pinot wines. Includes round-trip transportation from the Phoenix Inn, 2 tastings, 1 tour, champagne, juice, and soft drinks. Participants must be 21 or older.

Thursday, June 20

Regional Group Networking Lunch in EMU – included with conference registration

Meet new colleagues from your geographic area and learn about the work of IALLT’s regional groups.

Optional Local Food and Beverage Cultural Tour – $10
6:00pm-10:00pm

Join fellow conference attendees for this popular IALLT tradition affectionately known as the Pub Crawl. $10 covers transportation between the Phoenix Inn and the Whiteaker neighborhood, also known as the Fermentation District. Home to breweries, pubs, bars, distilleries, wineries, restaurants, and food trucks, the “Whit” offers no shortage of choices for your evening meal and other sustenance. Shuttles will leave the Phoenix Inn regularly between 6:00 and 7:00pm, taking small groups in waves to a central drop-off point, and then return to that same point for pick-ups between 9:00 and 10:00pm. Maps will be provided showing local favorites and recommendations, including some who will be offering discounts to our participants. Personal food and beverages are not included.


Friday, June 21

IALLT Banquet and Business Meeting in EMU Ballroom – included with conference registration
Cocktail Hour: 6:00pm-7:00pm
Banquet: 7:00pm-9:00pm

Dine with colleagues as IALLT President Felix Kronenberg reports on the state of the organization and recognizes individuals for their distinguished service.


Saturday, June 22

Afternoon Workshops in McKenzie Hall – $25 each

Optional excursion to Eugene Saturday Market – $5
12:00pm-5:00pm with on demand shuttles

Another option for the afternoon is to explore Eugene’s Saturday Market where approximately 200 vendors display their handmade or home-grown products in a park in downtown Eugene. It happens rain or shine, and is located at 8th and Oak which is not an unpleasant walk from the Phoenix Inn. There are plenty of food trucks for lunch as well as souvenirs for you to take home a handcrafted piece of Oregon. $5 covers transportation between the Phoenix Inn and Eugene Saturday Market. Shuttles will run at various times between noon and 5:00pm to allow participants to attend one of the workshops and still enjoy the Saturday Market.

Optional Closing Event at Falling Sky Brew Pub – $45
6:00pm-9:00pm

After the final workshops on Saturday, we will head to Falling Sky Brew Pub in downtown Eugene for a patio taco party that includes:

  • hearty vegetable salad
  • tortilla chips and salsa
  • create your own taco with corn or flour tortillas, roasted chicken, roasted veggies, wild salmon, cilantro-lime slaw, cotija cheese, feta, pickled onions, chipotle crema, and salsa verde
  • fruit platter with yogurt-honey dip
  • assorted house-made cookies
  • tea and lemonade
  • house-made soda (ginger ale, lemon-lime, root beer – no corn syrup and no artificial ingredients)
  • craft beer
  • cider

Our craft theme will continue at this event, so bring your creative spirit (and inner child)! Your $45 fee covers the meal, beverages, and transportation.
