Dr. Jorg Waltje
Director LRC
Ohio University
Gordy Hall 17 D
Athens, Ohio 45701 (USA)
Ph: (740) 593-2748
Fax: (740) 593-0729

Jorg Waltje is currently the Director of the Language Resource Center at Ohio University. In his former position as Language Technology Coordinator for the Ohio 5 Consortium, Jorg was responsible for guiding the integration of technology into language teaching at five liberal arts colleges in Northeastern Ohio. He is very experienced in the design and upkeep of language resource centers and multimedia classrooms, and just recently has moved the facilities at Ohio University into a more mobile and wireless environment.

Jorg has participated in lab renovation projects and has consulted for several institutions in the areas of materials development and pedagogy. He is knowledgeable in areas such as grant writing, budget and equipment issues, faculty training and support, as well as in selecting and motivating technology center staff.

Jorg works comfortably in both Mac and Windows environments and has set up database-, web-, and streaming servers. Most importantly, he strongly believes that technology needs to be wisely integrated into the curriculum if it is meant to enhance the learning and teaching experience.
