For Site Proposals
As we look forward to IALLT 2009 at Georgia State, it is not too early
to be thinking about conference locations for 2011 and 2013.
If you are interested in hosting an IALLT Conference at your institution,
please send a proposal following the Guidelines below. Any questions
you may have may be directed to Judi Franz, IALLT Programs
Director (jmfranz@uci.edu). Also see the Conference Planning
Guidelines for more information on what's involved in planning a
conference.
Proposal Guidelines:
Your proposal should be no more than ten pages in length (conciseness
is appreciated).
Your proposal should include your choice for the year 2011 or 2013
(if either year is possible, please state which is preferable) and
the possible dates for the conference (i.e. late June, August, etc.)

In your proposal please include the following:
- Why you would like to host an IALLT Conference at your institution.
- Why do you think your institution would be a good location
for an IALLT conference?
- What would be the best/desired dates to hold an IALLT Conference
on your campus? (Give at least two options.)
- A general description of your institution, its facilities
- facilities: lecture halls, computer labs, seminar rooms, meeting
rooms, etc.
- technical support: e-mail access, platforms supported, trouble-shooting,
etc.
- A description of your local support for conference planning
& preparation
- organizational support
- conference services on campus, your staff
- institutional support: from your dept., dean/college, university/college
(financial, staff, etc.)
- experience: have you planned conferences, symposia, colloquia
or meetings before?
- A description of travel & lodging options for the conference
- housing: anticipating approximately 400-500 participants (some
with spouses & families) what types of lodging are available?
- on/off campus, proximity to campus, etc.
- transportation: What transportation comes into and is available
in your area?
- long distance: air, rail
- local: buses, shuttles
- meals: on campus cafeteria, local restaurants, etc.
- A summary of local attractions and points of interest for spouse,
families and evening events.
- Daytime: attractions, activities, festivals, gardens, parks,
museums, etc.
- Evening: restaurants, pubs, shows, etc.
